My wonderful clients purchased their dream home in Huntington Beach, Ca wanting to tailor the home to their taste which meant undergoing three bathroom renovations, along with a few more items around the property.
"Modern with a twist of something.." they asked. We knew the design was to be modern, yet simple and classic. Mixing a touch of Bohemian Style was exactly what this modern Huntington Beach bathroom needed; a mix of old-world elements into a new modern setting.
We started with the flooring and agreed that would be our main decorative pattern in the space. After much research on both ends, the couple fell in love with this very fun and so very pretty patterned 'Damsel' tile from the Remy series by Bedrosians. The hand-made cement tile gave way for us to bring an old-world element into the space. The 8x8 tiles created such an amazing impact on the bathroom!

White subway tile was the original plan for the walls but half way through the design process we decided the bathroom had to have a much bigger impact than just simple subway tiles on the wall. We decided to use 4x12 glossy white subway tiles and we went with a herringbone layout for the shower wall, vanity wall, and went 36"H below the window. Definitely a modern day twist on subway tiles!

With so much gray and white on the flooring and walls the couple we went with a darker vanity. At first we thought maybe a navy blue but dark gray, almost an ebony, just seemed the right boldness and contrast to bring into the space. Charcoal Smudge by Dunn Edwards is the perfect shade!

Lastly the gold fixtures look amazing against the dark charcoal colored custom vanity. And the trendy round, gold trimmed mirror adds such great style to the bathroom.
