Youngwood Ave Kitchen Reveal

I am proud to share with you, the Youngwood Kitchen project!

Earlier this year I met with my wonderful and trendy clients on reworking the Kitchen and Dining spaces of their newly purchased home in Friendly Hills, Whittier. We were essentially relocating the Dining Room into the Living Room, and expanding the Kitchen into the old Dining Room to accommodate a large Island and Pantry/Wet Bar. We were also able to create a bonus Sitting Room just between the Wet Bar and Dining Room which worked out perfectly for my clients.

I started by centering the Island right off of the Family/TV Room, also centering a bank of windows on the outside facing wall. This gave the new Kitchen lots of natural light and added symmetry to the space. We also added a recessed ceiling mount Range Hood above the stove which gave the space a seamless, sleek look. What a view!

The placement of the wall was to divide the Kitchen and Sitting Room bonus area, and would create a 'corridor' for the Panty/Wet Bar which worked out nicely as a beverage station and appliance/food pantry. Placing the Refrigerator on that wall gave the perfect triangular cooking function and acted as a great division between the rooms while still having the Pantry/Wet Bar within reach.

Our color and finish scheme had a Mid-Century Modern feel using brass gold and natural wood elements against a Black and White palette. And let me tell you guys what an impact the large dome pendants with the brass gold interior make in this Kitchen! The brass finishes sets the perfect fun tone for this growing family home.

Check out the finish details!
